Looking for Some Fairs October 13, 2009

Well, I am scouring the web tonight looking for fairs to attend in November, December, January and beyond. I’ve found a few. I have to find a easy way to keep track of upcoming fairs, application deadlines, payment deadlines and so on. Mark suggested Google Calendar, but it doesn’t seem to be doing what I want it to do as far as keep track of the future. Any suggestions out there for fairs or tools for keeping track of dates would be much appreciated.

This past weekend I had a booth at the last Irvington Farmers’ Market of the season. It was not as well attended as I would have hoped- mainly I think because it was freezing most of the day. I took a nice booth pic because it was all nice and sunny, but still soooo cold. I’ll get the pic up soon.

This Saturday is the Cottage Home Block Party. I will be there with a whole slew of Halloween Necklaces and more.

Here is some info about the party:

The general public is invited to experience “Bare Bones,” on Saturday, October 17th from 5:00-11:00 p.m. This Halloween-themed party will be held in the 700 block of Dorman Street, just south of St. Clair Street on Indianapolis’ near Eastside.

The party kicks off at 5 p.m. Kid friendly entertainment will be featured throughout the afternoon and evening, including a host of local musicians and singers, including the funk, groove and soul of UpShot (www.myspace.com/upshotrock).

Children of all ages are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Face painting, pumpkin carving, pudding eating contest, spooky piñatas, as well as an interactive presentation by Animalia, Inc. starting at 6:00 p.m. Create a memory for years to come by participating in the “Paint-a-Picket” fundraiser, by painting a wood fence picket which will be displayed and used in the building of a picket fence around the Cottage Home Park. Food and beverages will be available from a variety of vendors. Plus, enjoy some of your favorite adult beverages from Cottage Home’s Dorman Street Saloon a/k/a The Hog (dormanstreet.com/saloon).

This magical event is FREE to the public. However, for those that can afford it, a suggested donation of $5.00 helps pay for event expenses, entertainment, and future neighborhood projects.
